The project has always, and will continue to belong to the Denmark community  through the operating company, Denmark Community Windfarm Ltd, registered in 2011; and Denmark Sustainability Fund Inc., the voluntary not-for-profit group registered in 2003, which as Denmark Community Windfarm Inc. initiated the project on behalf of the community and will deploy its income from the windfarm into community projects.

Denmark has direct access to a local source of clean, green energy.



DCW Inc was set up as a not-for-profit community group, incorporated in September 2003 to progress legal and financial structures for an organisation to own and operate the windfarm.

In doing so it generated many thousand dollars' worth of “sweat equity” through meetings, public workshops, social events and discussion groups.



In return for this input, DCW Inc was endowed with 200,000 non-voting shares in Denmark Community Windfarm Ltd, the public company responsible for taking the project to construction and operation.
